Output
Maya, your monthly investor update draft is ready. It incorporates notes and metrics from Google Workspace, Xero, and Linear. The draft is waiting in your email drafts folder for review before you send it to Hale Morrow and the board.
Subject: Harbor & Pine August update
August brought strong wholesale pipeline growth, while engineering hit its storefront milestones for the fall season.
Wholesale pipeline
- Cal Brook sent an $18,400 proposal to Driftline Supply Co.
- Kestrel & Finch completed discovery on an opening order valued at $9,600.
- Saltmarsh General ($6,200) has gone quiet since August 20, and Cal is following up.
Team and hiring
- Juno Pell launched searches for two roles: Portland store manager with Lena Vale, and senior ecommerce engineer with Ezra Holt.
- First-round candidate screens began with Dara Finch, Leo Marsh, Ines Calloway, and Teo Brandt.
Product and engineering
- Ezra Holt and Mira Sand shipped storefront updates in the harborpine/storefront repository on Linear team Web to prepare the fall catalog.

Automation steps. Your assistant follows these 7 steps each time it runs, using your connected email and calendar.
- 01
When my investor update is due, draft it in my voice.
- 02
Start from my last update: the metrics I reported, the asks that were open, and anything I said I'd do next period, so this one reports progress rather than a fresh story.
- 03
Gather what changed: milestones shipped, current values of my key metrics, hires and departures, fundraising and customer wins, and risks.
- 04
Lead with the headline, good or bad, state metrics against last period, and make every ask specific.
- 05
Never invent a number: mark a missing one "(needs number)" and list the gaps.
- 06
Address every next-period commitment from last time, and write a miss plainly with the plan.
- 07
If nothing material changed, say so instead of padding.
Adjust the automation in chat
Tell your assistant what to do differently and it sets up that version for you.
- Add a breakdown of top-selling products from the past month.
- Only include wholesale pipeline opportunities valued above $10,000.
- Move the run time to the second day of the month at 8:00 AM.
Results arrive as a message from your assistant. Each run posts to your conversation with your assistant, and can email you too. The automation keeps a log in your knowledge base and reads it before each run to see what has changed.
Adjustable schedule
Runs on the 1st of every month at 09:00 by default. Pick another time when you add it, or ask in chat for a custom schedule.
Only useful reports
When nothing needs attention, the run says so in a line or stays quiet. When there are findings, you get them with a link to the full run.
What it does on its own
Drafts the update from your metrics and notes. Every draft waits for you to send. An automated run has no tool that sends, posts, shares, or deletes anything.
This automation reads your email and calendar. Connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 to Fieldwork. The automation uses whichever you connect. It also uses your files, tasks, accounting when connected.

Questions about this automation.
- How do I set this up?
- Open your assistant on the Agents page in Fieldwork, find the automation in the job library, and choose Add. If Google Workspace, Xero, or Linear are not connected yet, the card prompts you to link them first. It starts on the first of each month at 9:00 AM, which you can adjust during setup.
- What does it do on its own versus what waits for me?
- It reviews your documents, tickets, and accounting figures to prepare the summary. The completed text is placed in your email drafts folder, and it never sends messages, contacts your board, or shares files on its own.
- Where do the results arrive?
- Your assistant posts the drafted update directly into your conversation, and can also send it to your inbox. If there are no updates or changes to report, it tells you briefly or stays quiet.
- Can I run the update before the scheduled date?
- Yes, you can ask your assistant in chat to generate an update at any point in the month. It pulls current numbers across your connected tools on demand.

No training on your data
Neither we nor our model providers train on your data. Inference runs with zero retention wherever the provider supports it.
Access
Agents only see what the person asking can see. Conversations, files, apps and connections stay private until shared, and admins have no way into conversations.
Encryption and isolation
Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Each user's code runs in its own microVM, and secrets reach models by name only.
Continuity
Continuous backups, replicated to a second region. Data is exported on request and deleted within 30 days of a contract's end.
