This Cookie Policy explains how Fieldwork AI Inc. ("Fieldwork", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies across our website at fieldwork.ai, formerly getfieldwork.ai (the "Site"), and our product at app.fieldwork.ai, which also answers at app.getfieldwork.ai (the "Service"). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. "Similar technologies" include browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), pixels, and software development kits that store or access information on your device. We refer to all of these together as "cookies" in this policy.
Cookies can be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by another provider). They can last only for a browsing session ("session cookies") or persist for a set period ("persistent cookies"). Some cookies are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for; others are non-essential (for example, analytics or advertising).
Our marketing website: analytics, ads measurement and referral tracking
How our marketing Site at fieldwork.ai asks about these cookies depends on where you are visiting from. We tell from the country our content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront) sees your connection coming from, and remember it in a cookie described below.
- Outside the United States, including the UK and the European Union, the Site sets no non-essential cookies until you allow it. On your first visit, analytics and advertising storage are switched off and a banner asks whether you are happy for us to set analytics, ads-measurement and referral cookies. Rejecting takes a single click, exactly like accepting, and if you reject we set none. If we cannot tell where you are visiting from, we treat your visit this way.
- In the United States, analytics, ads-measurement and referral cookies are switched on when you arrive, and you can opt out at any time through Your privacy choices in the Site footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as your opt-out and these cookies stay off, with nothing more for you to do.
When these cookies are allowed - because you accepted, or in the United States because you have not opted out - we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful, and the Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads conversion tracking and the OpenAI Ads pixel to measure whether our advertising on those platforms (including ads shown in ChatGPT) brings people here:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Third-party (Google) | Distinguishes visitors so we can count returning visits | Analytics - non-essential | Persistent - 2 years |
_ga_9H6KGQEJQV | Third-party (Google) | Maintains analytics session state | Analytics - non-essential | Persistent - 2 years |
_fbp, _fbc | Third-party (Meta) | Distinguishes visitors and records the Meta ad that brought them here, so we can measure our Meta ads | Advertising measurement - non-essential | Persistent - 90 days |
li_fat_id, ln_or | Third-party (LinkedIn) | Distinguishes visitors so we can measure our LinkedIn ads | Advertising measurement - non-essential | Persistent - 30 days |
_gcl_au, _gcl_aw | Third-party (Google) | Records the Google ad click that brought you here, so we can tell whether our Google ads lead to sign-ups | Advertising measurement - non-essential | Persistent - 90 days |
__oppref | Third-party (OpenAI) | Records the ChatGPT ad that brought you here, so we can measure our ads in ChatGPT | Advertising measurement - non-essential | Persistent - 30 days |
__obref | Third-party (OpenAI) | Distinguishes visitors so we can measure our ads in ChatGPT | Advertising measurement - non-essential | Persistent - 1 year |
Meta, LinkedIn, Google and OpenAI may also set cookies on their own domains when their tags load; those are governed by their own cookie policies. These tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager, and only when these cookies are allowed.
The first-party cookies above are set for fieldwork.ai and its subdomains, so your browser will also send them to app.fieldwork.ai; we do not run analytics or advertising measurement inside the Service and they are not read there.
Whenever these cookies are not allowed - before you accept, after you reject or opt out, or when your browser sends Global Privacy Control - Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode: it records that a page was viewed and roughly where the visit came from, without storing or reading anything on your device and without an identifier that follows you between visits, and the Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads and OpenAI tags do not load at all. We use Google Consent Mode, with analytics storage, advertising storage, ads user data and ads personalization switched off in each of those cases.
We store your answer on your device so that we do not have to ask on every page, and set a cookie recording where your visit comes from so the Site knows which of the approaches above applies:
| Storage | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
fw-cookie-consent (localStorage) | First-party (Fieldwork) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected (or opted out of) analytics and ads-measurement cookies | Strictly necessary | Persistent - 12 months, then we ask again |
fw-region | First-party (Fieldwork) | Records the country your visit comes from (a two-letter code, nothing more precise), so the Site knows whether to ask before setting cookies or to offer an opt-out | Strictly necessary | Session - deleted when you close your browser |
Remembering your answer, and knowing which of these approaches applies to your visit, are strictly necessary - without them we could not honor a rejection or an opt-out - so we do not ask for consent to them.
Referral tracking
If referral cookies are allowed - because you accepted, or in the United States because you have not opted out - and you follow a referral link, the Service sets __Secure-fw_referral, an opaque, first-party referral identifier for fieldwork.ai and its subdomains. It is Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax, and expires 90 days after the first valid referral is captured. Later visits do not extend that expiry or replace that referral. You can withdraw consent, or opt out, through Cookie settings (Your privacy choices in the United States) to remove the cookie. Without the cookie, referral information is carried in the links you follow, and you can enter a code before signing up. Once you register, attribution is recorded with your account and the first eligible new organization, independently of the cookie, to administer the discount and rewards.
Our product uses one strictly necessary cookie
When you sign in to the Service at app.fieldwork.ai (or app.getfieldwork.ai), we set a single first-party cookie to authenticate you and keep you signed in as you move between pages:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__Secure-better-auth.session_token | First-party (Fieldwork) | Authentication and session management - securely keeps you signed in to the Service | Strictly necessary | Persistent - expires after 7 days or when you sign out |
This cookie is set with the Secure attribute (sent only over an encrypted HTTPS connection). It is essential to the operation of the Service: without it, you could not stay signed in. Because it is strictly necessary to provide the Service you have requested, we do not ask for your consent to it, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and equivalent EU rules.
Advertising measurement on the Site only
The Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads conversion tracking and OpenAI Ads pixel described above are the only advertising technologies we use. They run on the marketing Site only, never inside the Service, and only when allowed as described above (after you accept, or in the United States unless you opt out); we use them to measure our own advertising on those platforms and do not sell or share information with third parties for their advertising. One part of that measurement completes in the Service: when you create an account or book a call and the _gcl_aw cookie from a Google ad click is present, we report that conversion to Google Ads with the click's identifier and the time, nothing else. Without the cookie, because you declined, opted out or did not arrive from an ad, nothing is reported. If we introduce any further non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy and extend the choices above to cover them first: outside the United States, so that you can accept or reject them - with rejecting as easy as accepting - before any such technology loads, and in the United States, so that you can opt out of them.
Managing and withdrawing consent
You can change your mind at any time: Cookie settings in the Site footer (Your privacy choices in the United States) reopens the banner. Choosing Decline there stops analytics and ads-measurement cookies immediately and deletes any first-party ones already set; in the United States, this is how you opt out. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser has the same effect.
You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to block them. Blocking the Service's session cookie will prevent you from signing in to and using the Service; blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how the Site works.
Changes
We will post changes to this policy here and update the "Last updated" date above. If we begin using further non-essential cookies, we will notify users and ask for consent, or in the United States offer an opt-out, as described above.
